After over eight years of operation, Auction Rooms & Counter has been sold by Andrew Kelly, with the new owners being a group of young guns within Sensory Lab, as well as the company itself. The process is currently in the handover period, but once that’s complete both venues will continue to operate with the same management and staff, and serve the same delicious food, Small Batch coffee, and give great service.
Small Batch Roasting Co., however, hasn’t been sold, and is still 100% owned by Andrew Kelly. All roasting operations at Small Batch will remain as is, and supply to Auction Rooms and Counter will continue.
Largely, the reason behind the sale is to allow Small Batch (and Andrew) to focus on better supporting our customers, brewing and roasting itself, and for us to pursue some more ambitious green sourcing projects. This change presents some very exciting opportunities for us to refocus, grow, and develop as a business – so stay tuned!
