With this microlot, three small scale coffee producers – Alirio Munoz, Viviana Realpe & Idelfonso Cordoba – provide a stunning example of the ‘whole is greater than the sum of the parts’ adage.
It helps when the ‘parts’ are pink bourbon variety lots, hailing from members of our favourite producer group, Los Guacharos (whose members are transitioning away from synthetic chemical inputs in their farming in favour of taking a more wholistic, regenerative, soil-up approach).
The pink bourbon variety is a naturally occurring cross pollination between the red & yellow bourbon varieties, providing a distinct pink colour in the cherries, and, more importantly than this colour novelty, magic in the cup.
We paid between $2,400,000 and $2,500,000 pesos per carga in September 2021 for 350kg of this micro-lot via our Colombian buying/exporting arm Shared Source.
Roasted for espresso brewing.
We ship coffee as whole beans by default, if you need your coffee ground, please let us know at the checkout.
