This coffee represents 18 months of hard work that has gone into bringing you the best Ethiopian coffee that we possibly can. Ethiopia is notoriously difficult to source coffee from in a transparent way, and with this coffee from Hunda Oli Cooperative we're very happy that we've been able to do so by way of communication with the coop themselves and newly formed Keta Muduga Union which they're an integral part of.
The name Hunda Oli means 'better for all' in Oromo (the local language), and via a range of social activities they're definitely living up to that motto: they help support the local school, and also supply potable water to the community. The cooperative itself was started in 2012, with the washing station and its surrounds sitting at an altitude of approximately 2050 masl. Each year there are 200 seasonal workers who help with processing all the cherry that comes in from the smallholder farmers in the area.
