Fahem comes to us from Atnago in the Jimma region of Ethiopia, from Hayatudin Jemal. At Fahem they farm their own coffee, as well as milling small farmers from the region. Here they have heirloom varieties, as well as 74110 planted – a variety which tends to be more consistent and also CBD (Coffee Berry Disease) resistant.
This is the first of our fresh Ethiopian arrivals, and one that we're very excited about as we were able to deal with Fahem Estate in a much more intimate manner than we've previously been able to in Ethiopia (which is notoriously bureaucratic and difficult to deal directly in).
Understandably, we're very excited about this release – it's an absolute stunner, roasting up beautifully for both espresso and filter – full of a great syrupy peach character in espresso, and a delicate green tea quality in filter. It's really fascinating to taste the same coffee in two different roasts and brew methods, so we've also done up a little coffee pack (250g of each) so you can taste it both ways!
