andy copping a sniff at the CUP OF EXCELLENCE seminar

We'd like to send out a big thanks to all involved with the COE gatherings last weekend. Breaking crust with fellow roasters and baristas is always affirming and inspiring.

We'll be roasting some CUP OF EXCELLENCE lots over the next few weeks, which will pop up on the retail shelves in AUCTION ROOMS.

green got easier

With the oxygen pulled from these airtight containers, our green is as comfortable as possible during it's short stay in the stable SmallBatch warehouse. Fifteen kilos a piece means we're comfortable carrying entire sacks around in segments. If everyone is happy, why can't we bring ourselves to get rid of those sacks?

smaller batch 2010

With this new year comes many new coffees so we're very much back in the swing of things here at small batch, as you can see bellow with Andy Small Batch himself roasting up some Cup of Excellence Costa Rica "La Pira" on our one kilo sample roaster. Just to clairfy, the bottom picture represents a drum seasoning roast - that is not our regular roast level!

cowpuncher

Big, bold and strong yet smooth, creamy and sweet are the vibes of our newest blend; COWPUNCHER. This camp cowboy is designed as an espresso blend to kick through your milky lattes and flat whites with a full earthy body that's got dark chocolate, peanut, and dark berry notes with a long smooth finish that will ride with you all morning. For those who like their strong lattes strong, their horse rides smooth, and their cowboys grissly.

new shelves: retail

We may be roasting off-site now (a stones throw away!), but we still love the sound of Auction Rooms roburs grinding up our candyman blend, and filling their lovely restored timber shelves with fresh retail coffee for you to take home. Tasting notes and a rotating menue of single origins available in-store!
